The new Captain America is the new box office champ.

Marvel’s Anthony Mackie-helmed action flick “Captain America: Brave New World” generated $40 million in first-day receipts in the United States, earning it the top spot at the box office, according to The Numbers.

The third standalone “Captain America” film co-stars Hollywood legend Harrison Ford as both President Thaddeus Ross and the character’s alter ego, Red Hulk.

The is the second Marvel film within the last year to enjoy impressive day-one sales: last summer’s highest-grossing hit, Marvel’s “Deadpool and Wolverine,” opened with $38.5 million in sales its first day in theaters.

Paddington Bear is also back in theaters — this time, on an all-new South American adventure. “Paddington in Peru” was also released on Friday, and sold $5.1 million in tickets to finish at No. 2.

With Ben Whishaw and Olivia Colman, “Paddington in Peru” is also the third installment in that franchise, based off the Michael Bond-penned children’s books.

noti.group’s Johnny Oleksinski praised the film, telling readers Paddington’s “last emotional takeaway about family will have you crying more than your kids.”

Claiming the No. 3 spot with $4.9 million in sales during its eighth Friday of release is the Valentine’s Day-themed slasher film “Heart Eyes.”

To date, the film, starring Olivia Holt and Jordana Brewster, has earned more than $16.4 million.

Chinese animated fantasy adventure film “Ne Zha 2” took the fourth position on the chart, with $3.1 million in tickets sold on its first day in cinemas.

The film is the sequel to 2019’s “Ne Zha,” which was based loosely on the 16th century Chinese novel “Investiture of the Gods.”

Rounding out the Top 5 was the animated feature “Dog Man, which, on its third Friday in theaters, generated a $2.77 million dollar take.
