This is the terrifying moment a yacht carrying tourists crashed into rocks and sunk during a chaotic New Year’s Day boat trip.

The vessel – named Amore Mio – was ferrying guests in Mexico who were celebrating the start of 2025 in style before it went dramatically wrong.

Tense footage captured the luxury whit boat slamming into a large rock wall as a group of bikini-clad revelers crammed into an open space at the front of the yacht.

The ship could be seen swaying from side to side as the panicked guests scrambled to find safety before the boat toppled or crashed into the rock surface again.

Onlookers and divers frantically called out to the tourists and made hand gestures encouraging them to escape the crashing boat by jumping off the side.

Screams and yells of stranded tourists filled the footage as some were seen walking to the side of the boat to jump off while other remained stationed in the bow.

According to local reports, a total of 15 tourists fell into the water but were thankfully saved by nearby divers who dragged them to safety.

Another clip of the boat post-crash shows the vessel slowly sinking into the blue waters off La Quebrada, Acapulco, as pieces of its mechanics broke off and floated out to sea.

The empty yacht could be seen bobbing up and down while at least two other small boats lurked behind, watching the destruction unfold.

The Amore Mio was almost vertical as large slabs of metal floated away, causing the vessel to sink further into the water as onlookers watched on in shock.

The wreckage was then seen slowly drifting towards a rock face, causing further damage to the vehicle as it bounced against the surface.

Eye-witnesses told local media that the strong currents pulled the boat towards the rocks, which eventually made it crash.

Passengers who were rescued from the boat were reportedly left uninjured, but suffered nervous breakdowns as a result of the fright of the boat crashing.

Following the incident the Mexican Navy cordoned off the area.

It comes after a £10million superyacht smashed into a cruise ship off the Bahamas last month.

Footage taken by passengers showed the Aurora yacht veering diagonally towards the massive Allure of the Seas cruise ship while it was docked in Nassau Harbour on December 12.

Horrified cruise guests standing at the railing can be heard shouting: ‘That’s for sure about to hit us. They’re hitting us. Oh no they’re going to hit us.’

The 121ft yacht then smashed into the Royal Caribbean ship with a loud crash, before it scraped along the hull of the 1,187ft cruise liner, accompanied by deafening creaking sounds.

The yacht’s mast even struck one of the lifeboats on the cruise ship, which ripped off its radar dome and left debris lying on the yacht.

But the Allure of the Seas only sustained minimal damage and set off from the Bahamas port with a 40-minute delay.

No injuries were reported following the incident, but the Aurora remained docked in Nassau for repairs due to the significant damage it sustained.
