This spice has been spiked.

Coca-Cola announced that it would discontinue its Spiced flavor after less than a year since it hit shelves.

The Spiced flavor debuted in the United States and Canada on Feb. 19, just barely clocking seven months before being canned. It was the first alternative to classic Coke that was offered in the US in three years.

The company described the drink as having the “classic taste of Coca-Cola with refreshing bursts of raspberry and a curated blend of warm spiced flavors.”

Coca-Cola, as tight-lipped as ever about its signature recipe, did not specify what spices it added to the raspberry Coke to distinguish it from the original.

Spiced is not the first alternative to regular Coke, and it appears it won’t be the last — the company revealed plans to reveal it will release “an exciting new flavor in 2025,” it told Fox Business.

Just two weeks ago, Coca-Cola introduced a limited edition Oreo flavor — but it’s only available at 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores in the US.

The loss will likely have little impact on Coke’s popularity, having consistently topped other brands like Dr. Pepper and Pepsi-Cola nearly every year over the past four decades, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Coca-Cola did not specify why exactly it is discontinuing the flavor. The name likely could have misled consumers, though, as it does not carry with it any of the suggested spice, and contains only faint hints of raspberry as opposed to the promised bursts.
