# Yvonne Bajela launches Evertrue fund with $17 million in capital

Evertrue has secured $17 million in funding and will support early-stage companies across the UK and Europe.

Yvonne Bajela, a seasoned venture capitalist, has launched her own fund, Evertrue, after more than a decade of investing in startups as part of other firms.

The new fund has secured $17 million in capital, exceeding its initial target and marking a significant milestone for Bajela's entrepreneurial endeavors. This influx of funds will enable Evertrue to support early-stage companies across the UK and Europe.

Bajela has previously worked with LocalGlobe and Impact X Capital Partners, where she made strategic investments in now-prominent companies such as fintech Wise, insurance provider Marshmellow, and robotaxi firm Mooves.

She is now poised to pursue her own investment vision, one that reflects her distinct approach to backing founders and their innovative ideas. Bajela described the decision to launch Evertrue as an opportunity to "make a bet of my own after years of supporting others' ventures.

The fund will focus on early-stage investing in startups, with a typical cheque size of around £350,000. Over the next three years, Evertrue aims to support at least 20 companies, marking the beginning of its investment journey under Bajela's leadership.

Bajela attributes her decision to launch Evertrue partly to the current AI boom, which has transformed the startup landscape and created new opportunities for early-stage investors like herself.

The UK's startup scene is experiencing a surge in activity, particularly in AI hubs like King's Cross, where companies such as Revolut, Synthesia, ElevenLabs, and CuspAI are pushing the boundaries of scaling and success.

This uptick in innovation presents an opportunity for early-stage investors to identify and back promising startups before they gain widespread recognition. Bajela believes that globally significant businesses will emerge from a broader range of starting points, rather than just major hubs.

However, emerging fund managers face intense competition for investment capital. The market has been described as barbell-shaped", with large sums concentrated among established firms led by experienced investors and those at the lower end who are often new to the scene.

In contrast to the US market, where fundraising can be challenging for emerging fund managers, the UK appears to be more favorable. According to PitchBook data, emerging fund managers in this region have already raised $7.4 billion through September, surpassing their 2025 total of $6.2 billion.

Fundraising is a time-consuming and grueling process, with even the most promising startups facing months of uncertainty before securing investment. Bajela notes that prolonged fundraising processes without clear outcomes can be costly for founders, who value clarity above all else.

Evertrue's fund size was strategically determined by Bajela, rather than being a measure of success in itself.

The decision to cap the fund at $17 million was made after considering investor interest and avoiding unnecessary pressure to deploy capital simply because it was available. This approach allows Evertrue to build meaningful positions in its highest-conviction investments without compromising on quality or speed.

Evertrue's limited partners (LPs) are predominantly based in the UK, making up around 80% of the total. The remaining LPs are spread across Europe, Asia, and the US, reflecting Bajela's extensive network built over a decade of investing across various markets.

The fund's global ambition is also reflected in its international LP base, which aligns with Evertrue's focus on supporting founders who aim to expand their businesses beyond their initial markets. This includes British founders who often have their sights set on the US market, with more than half of Evertrue's portfolio already operating across the Atlantic.

Evertrue will primarily invest in AI and fintech sectors, with a particular interest in individuals who possess unique insights into problems and an ability to execute them effectively. Bajela is drawn to entrepreneurs who aim to build something much bigger than their initial product or service.

Bajela's background as a senior investment manager in Japan at Mistusi has given her a unique perspective on entrepreneurship.

She said that she is drawn to founders who have overcome significant challenges and have been shaped by their experiences, allowing them to bring a distinct perspective to the table.

Throughout her career, Bajela has seen firsthand how ambition and talent are widely distributed across different regions and backgrounds. This experience informs her investment decisions at Evertrue.

Bajela's goal for Evertrue is to be recognized as a leader in identifying high-quality founders who go on to build successful businesses.

Evertrue has secured $17 million in fresh capital, a significant boost for the firm's mission to identify high-quality founders who go on to build successful businesses.

The investment will enable Evertrue to further develop its research and analysis capabilities, allowing it to better evaluate potential investments and support entrepreneurs in their growth. By recognizing and supporting promising startups, Evertrue aims to contribute positively to Europe's startup ecosystem. With this new capital injection, the company is well-positioned to continue making a meaningful impact on the region's entrepreneurial landscape.
