Tom Brady has seven Super Bowl rings, but his newest one has the most pizzazz.
“They’re not so much rings, they’re more like trophies that you wear on your finger,” Brady said in a video posted by the Buccaneers. “This is by far the most incredible ring that’s ever been made.”
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers unveiled the rings during a private ceremony for players, coaches, front-office members, team employees and their families on Thursday night. The ring contains 319 diamonds, 15 carats of white diamonds and 14 carats of yellow diamonds.
It is also the first-ever Super Bowl ring that has a twist-off top that is removable. The bottom of the removable top contains the word “HISTORIC,” laser-etched in gold. It also has two Lombardi trophies, one for each championship the franchise has won.
The bottom of the ring contains the scores of the four playoff games from the Bucs’ postseason. Inside the band of the ring, their team motto of “Trust, Loyalty, Respect,” is displayed.
“We wanted it to represent the camaraderie and sacrifice that our players and coaches experienced along the way,” co-owner Darcie Glazer-Kassewitz said. “This ring tells the story of that journey, it reflects the heart and soul of a team like none other before it. We know it will be an emotional touchstone for everyone involved for many, many years to come.”
Normally, NFL teams use Jostens to design their rings. All of Brady’s previous Super Bowls were designed by jewelry manufacturer. However, the Bucs’ previous ring was designed by Tiffany. This time Tampa Bay turned to Jason Arasheben of Jason of Beverly Hills for a unique design.
“This one, I felt the same pressure, if not more,” Arasheben said. “Tom Brady has six previous Super Bowl rings. I was like, ‘You know what? This one has to supersede the expectations, to exceed every other one he’s had in the past. And I feel more than confident that we succeeded in doing that.”
