# Israeli Settlers Launch Attacks on Palestinian Olive Farmers

A series of attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinian olive farmers has disrupted the harvest season in various regions across the West Bank.

Israeli settlers have launched a series of attacks against Palestinian olive farmers in the West Bank, disrupting their harvest season. The attacks have been widespread across various regions, including Qusra, Tal, Jorish, Beita, Naqoura, Birzeit, Deir Bzeih and Farata.

According to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, a total of 19 settler attacks were recorded on Friday alone. These incidents included assaults on Palestinian olive harvesters, as well as the burning and uprooting of olive trees. Settlers also targeted Palestinian vehicles, including one that was set on fire in Tal.

In Qusra, over 50 olive trees were ripped out of the ground by settlers, causing significant damage to the local agricultural community. The commission noted that this is a critical period for the olive harvest, with many farmers relying heavily on their crops during this time. Israeli forces have been accused of failing to protect Palestinian farmers from settler violence.

The attacks have not only damaged property but also left several Palestinian farmers injured. Many more are believed to be at risk as the conflict between settlers and Palestinians continues to escalate in the region. The situation is further complicated by the presence of Israeli forces, who have been criticized for their handling of the crisis.

In recent days, several incidents have been reported in various parts of the West Bank involving attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian farmers and their property.

A farmer was injured in Kafr ad-Dik after gunfire was reportedly exchanged between settlers and Palestinians, while in Deir Ballut, live ammunition was used during a settler-led rampage backed by Israeli forces.

Meanwhile, an elderly woman was injured in Berin, east of Hebron, when settlers set their dogs on farmers who were tending to their sheep. In Ein Qinya, livestock was stolen from Palestinian owners.

Settlers also targeted Palestinian-owned vehicles in Yabrud and other towns, including Sarda and al-Rihan, where a vehicle was stolen along with its occupants.

Palestinian families near Ramallah are facing intimidation from Israeli settlers who have established an unauthorized outpost in the area. These settlers use this base to launch attacks on Palestinians, creating a climate of fear and anxiety during what should be a joyous time for Palestinian farmers - the olive harvest season.

The Israeli army has been complicit in these settler attacks, allowing them to take place with relative impunity. This is evident from recent events, where 16 Palestinians were arrested by Israeli forces in raids across the West Bank on Friday. The arrests were made under the pretext of enforcing security measures, but many see this as a way for Israel to suppress Palestinian resistance and maintain control over the occupied territories.

In Hebron, nine Palestinians were taken into custody after their homes were raided and searched by Israeli forces. Among those arrested was Moataz Abu Sneineh, the director of Ibrahimi Mosque, and Hammam Abu Markhiya, a senior official responsible for the mosque's custodians. This latest wave of arrests has further heightened tensions in the region.

The olive harvest season is now marked by fear and intimidation, as Palestinian farmers struggle to protect their crops from settler attacks and Israeli military presence. The situation on the ground remains dire, with no end in sight to the cycle of violence and oppression.
