# IDFA Announces 47 Projects for Co-production Market

The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) has announced its slate of 47 projects for this year's IDFA Forum co-production market.

The 2026 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) has announced its slate of 47 projects for this year's IDFA Forum co-production and co-financing market. The festival, which takes place from November 12 to 22, will feature a revamped format designed to facilitate more effective communication between filmmakers and potential collaborators.

The IDFA Forum received an impressive 859 entries, each assessed by 42 external experts. This rigorous evaluation process ensures that only the most promising projects are showcased across various sections of the festival, including the Forum Pitches, Roundtable Presentations, Rough Cut Presentations, and IDFA DocLab Forum for new media.

The revised presentation formats aim to address the increasingly fragmented nature of the documentary market. According to organizers, the goal is to enable potential partners, such as funders, broadcasters, producers, and collaborators, to better understand their role in supporting a film. This will be achieved by showcasing selected projects either to a larger audience at the Forum Pitches or in more intimate settings through Roundtable Presentations.

The revised structure allows for more in-depth conversations between filmmakers and potential partners. Organizers believe this will foster meaningful engagement and facilitate the exchange of ideas, ultimately leading to successful collaborations that bring documentary projects to life.

IDFA Forum is maintaining its focus on co-production and producer-to-producer meetings as part of this year's program.

These sessions aim to facilitate meaningful connections between filmmakers from different parts of the world and foster potential collaborations.
