It’s finally time to say goodbye.
After 13 years working together, Evan Roberts and Joe Benigno’s partnership will end on Nov. 6 because of Benigno’s retirement.
“I knew this day would eventually come … it has been an absolute honor to listen and then have the privilege of working with the great Joe Benigno for the last 14 years,” Roberts wrote on Twitter. “Great host, great man I will absolutely miss working with him.
Benigno’s retirement, which he officially announced on Wednesday afternoon, comes after a 25-year-career as a full-time sports talk voice on WFAN.
“It’s time to go for me,” Benigno told listeners Wednesday. “I don’t think there is any question about it. What else can you say? It’s been a great run. It’s been a stellar 25 years.”
While Benigno plans to move to Florida and spend his days playing golf, Roberts has a new job in front of him: an afternoon drive-time show with Craig Carton.
