Don’t mess with mom.
Beyoncé mother, Tina Knowles, isn’t here for the negative chatter about the superstar’s NFL halftime performance on Christmas Day.
After the Grammy winner wowed the crowd in Houston during the Texans vs. Boston Ravens game, some took to social media to call her the “most overrated music performer on Earth.”
However, Knowles quickly came to her daughter’s defense, reposting a user’s Instagram post on Friday that read: “No matter how undeniably talented you are, people will always, ALWAYS, always have some negative ish to say.”
“My sentiments exactly!” Knowles wrote on the social media platform. “It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent so that you can go talk ish about it later.”
The fashion designer went on to call out trolls for watching Beyoncé’s halftime performance in the first place.
“Obviously you are so obsessed with them, addicted to them, and secretly admire them, wish you could be them, that you cannot help but to watch and critique and comment and say dumb ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke!!” Knowles continued.
The former manager encouraged haters to spend their time watching “goofy cartoons or Bozo the clown” instead.
“I have learned so much from her warrior spirit, of when they go low I work harder,” Knowles said quoting Isaiah 54:7. “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”
Although the internet trolls weren’t the only ones left dissatisfied as Dave Portnoy also admitted he wasn’t a fan of the set.
“Beyoncé has been LOST since Destinys Child,” the Barstool Sports founder wrote on X about the singer’s former music group, which officially disbanded 18 years ago.
“Shred line is open for that Beyoncé performance,” Portnoy wrote in a follow-up post to promote a call-in show he helps host with ex-NFL coach Jon Gruden.
Beyoncé performance took place on Christmas Day with the Grammy winner donning a white-feathered gown, a cowboy hat, a slew of diamonds and a red, white and blue “Cowboy Carter” sash.
Stealing the show was Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, who joined the singer on stage during the song, “Texas Hold ‘Em.”
Missing from the family affair was Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z who is in the midst of a legal battle. The Roc Nation founder, 55, wasn’t seen on screen at all during the lively performance at NRG Stadium.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl with Sean “Diddy” Combs at an afterparty following the Video Music Awards in 2000.
Jay-Z denied the “heinous” allegations, calling the lawsuit a “blackmail attempt.”
